Distribution of excreted nitrogen by grazing cattle and its effects on sward quality, herbage produche greatest influence on the response of pasture production to N fertilization..Two one-year experiments are described which showed that there were no significant differences in the response of grassland production to N fertilization between cutting and grazing usage above about 200 kg N ha. yr..

History of Concepts for Ecologyme the infrastructure for manure transport to areas with a manure shortage should be strengthened and plants for manure processing introduced. A reduction in nutrient excretion by changing animal nutrition is considered to be possible. Results obtained up to the present are discussed.

Utilization of nitrogen from injected and surface-spread cattle slurry applied to grasslandyears. In two experiments, surface application of slurry was included; all slurry applications were made in the spring. In each experiment three rates of slurry application were used, the maximum rates were 40tha. yr. and 80 or 90t ha.yr. for the surface-spread and injected treatments, respectively.
