The Scientific Tradition of the Society of Jesus and the Formation of Angelo Secchistoration of the Society in 1814 and how the research of a Jesuit scientist might be linked to the philosophical education found in those Jesuit schools. Here we will look briefly into the scientific education in the Society from its origin to the suppression of 1773, and in that light examine the role of science in the restored Society.

In this article I provide new information about the distribution of Secchi’s meteorographs outside of Italy.
