影響因子One of the major problems associated with the disposal ofchemical weapons is that the agents have degraded over time, somequite seriously. Detecting and identifying the products of thisdecomposition are necessary prerequisites to the safe, complete andenvironmentally benign destruction of stockpiled weapons. The bookpresents and discusses both basic and novel techniques in a variety ofareas of analytical chemistry which are relevant to achieving theultimate destruction of chemical weapons. Presentations address samplecollection and preparation, mass spectrometry, chromatographictechniques, NMR, and air monitoring techniques. .The work shows that analytical methods do exist to effectively supportthe destruction of chemical munitions. While further research isneeded, the book provides an excellent baseline for further advancesin the field.

Fakrul Islam,Wardatul AkmamNuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR) for the verification of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) has the same basic aim as conventional NMR: Unknown substances should be identified by recording spectra with high resolution and sensitivity and subsequent comparison to a spectral database or the expert’s experience.
