Metabolic Effects of Anabolic-Androgenic Steroids in Experimental Animalsntion on energy metabolism. Early attempts to confirm these results were conflicting and unconvincing. Later several investigators administered extracts to experimental animals, with small and questionable results on energy and nitrogen metabolism (Koch, 1939; Moore, 1939).

Effect of Anabolic-Androgenic Steroids on the Skin, Including Hair and Sebaceous Glandshe physiologic and pharmacologic effects of these anabolic-androgenic steroids upon the skin have been studied in man and experimental animals. The aim of this review is to describe the principal changes produced in the skin and its appendages, especially the sebaceous glands and the different types of hair, by administration of these steroids.
