Why Aristotle Was Not a Feminist,f his thought in the rise of the empirical sciences. His influence on views of women, however, has been less sanguine. Aristotle not only describes women as (as it were) deformed and misbegotten males; he also understands women as incapable of fully actualizing that feature most distinctive to human beings: our rationality.
