Appliance Recognition from Electric Current Signals for Information-Energy Integrated Network in Homlligent outlet with voltage and current sensors to integrate legacy appliances (which are incompatible with a communications network) with the home network. Furthermore, we demonstrate a prototype home energy management system and examples of services based upon appliance recognition.

Situation-Theoretic Analysis of Human Intentions in a Smart Home Environmentn-theoretic framework to infer human intentions is presented through a smart-home demonstration aimed at supporting independent living of elderly people. By analyzing experimental sensor data collected from a real-life smart home, differences and similarities between three detected intentions were intensely discussed.
