The Aging Auditory System: Electrophysiology,(EEG), effects of age on neural structure and function have been identified at the level of the auditory nerve, midbrain, and auditory cortex. This chapter takes a systems approach and describes results from electrophysiologic studies of the aging auditory system and focuses on the effects of age, experience, and disease.
