Motion Projection for Floating Object Detectionlow enables further computational performance improvements though special hardware such as field programmable gate arrays (FPGA) or Graphics Processing Units (GPUs). A Vision-Based Architecture for Intent Recognitionalyze the current scene employs a novel vision-based technique for target detection and tracking, using a non-parametric recursive modeling approach. Our intent recognition method uses a novel formulation of Hidden Markov Models (HMM’s) designed to model a robot’s experience and its interaction with the world while performing various actions.

Emergence from a Vegetative State,uracy. The method is assessed qualitatively and quantitatively on synthetic and natural images. It is shown that the new approach can segment objects with complex shapes or weak-contrasted boundaries, and has good immunity to noise. The operator is also extended to 3-D, and is successfully applied to medical volume segmentation.
