Popular Sweets in Douro Valley,ledge in the geographical context in which they appear. For data collection we use documentary analysis and participant observation as research techniques. We note as main results the coupling of sweets to contexts of socialization, sociability, and worship, combined in a sacred and profane mixture that exposes discourses related to sexuality.
