Analysis on Triggering of Soil Liquefaction Including Effects of Imperfect Saturation,the cyclic resistance ratio are revisited. The empirical procedures to appropriately incorporate the effects of soil ageing and imperfect saturation are introduced, and some case history studies are described.

Use of In Situ Sounding Tests for Evaluating Soil Liquefaction Triggering,re described. The recent development on the use of weight sounding test is then introduced, including the estimations of relative density, SPT .-value as well as the liquefaction resistance of soils. The collection of some recent case history data on soil liquefaction triggering observed in Japan is also introduced.

Evaluating Post-liquefaction Settlement and Lateral Deformation,from different points of view. Some recent case history data are then introduced. The liquefaction-induced settlement of foundations is then examined based on shaking table tests. Some recent findings from centrifuge model tests on the mechanism and numerical modelling of lateral spreading are also introduced.
