https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-319-25546-0statin and antibiotics were measured. Coating of these . shells with an apatitic bone cement material reduced the dissolution rate by 50 % compared with control samples. This study shows the potential applications of marine structure-derived calcium phosphates as efficient local drug delivery systems.
