Project Templates and Getting Aroundsy to use for simple workflows, but things can become unnecessarily difficult when the workflows get complicated. Many workflows that are difficult to do using native Power BI tools are relatively easy to do using R or Python. We will illustrate with an example.

https://doi.org/10.1007/978-1-4842-0538-9Power BI’s built-in ETL tool, Power Query, is capable of reading data that is stored in a variety of formats into memory, making transformations to the data while in memory, and loading the transformed data into the Power BI data model. It does a great job of doing these types of tasks as it can handle most ETL situations.
