The process described by Ellis and Levy (2010) makes the link between theory and practice and their ideas guide the methodology chosen for the design of the practical elements of the tool. This integration aims to develop a tool which is grounded in research but can be applied practically.

The design of the tool involved examining the initial purpose and eventual function of the tool which included many variables.
