The Palgrave Macmillan Animal Ethics SeriesSilver nanoparticles (AgNPs or nanosilver) material has been receiving increasing attention in the recent decade. For example, AgNPs and its application has been studied and exploited to a large extent. In fact, it was reported that nanosilver had a history of approximately 120?years of usage, mainly under the term ‘colloidal silver’.

The Palgrave Macmillan Animal Ethics SeriesChemicals used in this study were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich, US, unless otherwise specified. Deionized water (DI water) used throughout this study was 18?mΩ pure water produced by MilliQ water purification system (Milipore, US).
