Perceptions of teamwork in acute medical wards,archy or collegial relations between independent professionals, as the favoured mode of delivering much of the work of healthcare. For this reason, and because modes of organisation, such as team, hierarchy or collegial relations, shape the experience of joint working, teamwork warrants study as an important aspect of the division of labour.
