Are these `fingerprints‘ of climate change? An internationalconference was organised to bring together scientists from differentcontinents with different expertise but sharing the same issue ofclimate change impact studies. Ecologists, zoologists, and botanistsexchanged and discussed the findings from their individual field ofresearch. The present book is an international collection ofbiological signs of recent climate warming, neither based only oncomputer models nor on prediction for the future, but mainly onactually occurring changes in the biosphere such as adapted behaviouror shifts in the ranges of species. .`Fingerprints‘ of ClimateChange. presents ecological evidence that organisms are respondingto recent global warming. The observed changes may foreshadow thetypes of impacts likely to become more frequent and widespread withcontinued warming. | Pindex | Book 2001 |
