Focused Starlight, Cosmic Impacts and Life on Earth,erstition. That is no longer so today, but prior to this relatively recent shift in opinion, any catastrophist hypothesis was seen as weird or naive. Still, a few brave souls swam against the tide and in doing so paved the way for the broader understanding of natural processes that we hold today.

Weird Theories of a Weird Universe,on is exactly matched by the negative charge of the electron. This is a good assumption, but it is, nevertheless, still an assumption. There is no intuitive a priori reason for thinking that the charges must be exactly equal.
