An SVD in Spherical Surface Wave Tomography,, generalizing a previous result for half circles in Groemer (Monatsh Math 126(2):117–124, 1998). Furthermore, we derive a numerical algorithm based on the SVD and illustrate its merchantability by numerical tests.

Bayesian Updating in the Determination of Forces in Euler-Bernoulli Beams,urement of the displacement of one of its points. The Bayesian method is used to combine measurements taken from different points at different times. This method enables an effective way of reducing the practical amount of time for obtaining meaningful loading estimates.

Posterior Contraction in Bayesian Inverse Problems Under Gaussian Priors,s suffer from a certain saturation phenomenon, when the data-generating element is too smooth compared to the smoothness inherent in the prior. We show how to overcome this saturation in an empirical Bayesian framework by using a non-centered data-dependent prior.
