Introduction to Localization,ization algorithms and performance metrics, specifically, the Cramer-Rao lower bound (CRLB) are presented. In addition, probability of false alarm and probability of detection are introduced as metrics to evaluate the performance of detection algorithms.

Review of Localization Algorithms,Once distance measurements are available, node location can be estimated using different approaches. In this chapter, existing approaches, such as nonlinear least squares (NLS), linear least squares (LLS), projection onto convex sets (POCS), and projection onto rings (POR) are described.
