Large-Eddy Simulation Models are provided: the Smagorinsky model and the one-equation turbulence kinetic energy model. The problem of inlet condition for LES is addressed, involving a variety of techniques to produce flow fluctuations at the inlet of an LES domain. Finally, a synthetic inlet turbulence generator for atmospheric boundary layers is provided.
