Automatic Recognition of Cortical Sulci Using?a?Congregation?of?Neural?Networks given by a multi-layer perceptron trained on a learning database. A base of 26 brains manually labelled by a neuroanatomist is used to validate our approach. The whole system developed for the right hemisphere is made up of 265 neural networks.

Registration of 3D Intraoperative MR Images of the Brain Using a Finite Element Biomechanical Modelm, and a good capability of measuring surface as well as subsurface shift. We measured distances between landmarks in the deformed initial image and the corresponding landmarks in the target scan. The surface shift was recovered from up to 1cm down to less than 1mm, and subsurface shift from up to 6mm down to 3mm or less.

Robust Midsagittal Plane Extraction from Coarse, Pathological 3D Imagesnput 3D images with (1) large asymmetrical lesions; (2) arbitrary initial yaw and roll angle errors; and (3) low signal-to-noise level. Fusing Speed and Phase Information for Vascular Segmentation in Phase Contrast MR Angiogramse model parameters are estimated by the Expectation-Maximization (EM) algorithm [3]. In addition, it is shown that a Maxwell-Gaussian finite mixture distribution models the background noise more accurately than a Maxwell distribution and exhibits a better fit to clinical data.
