Self-Focusing and Hydrodynamics in Laser Interaction with Underdense Plasma. Experimental results showed a net redistribution of the laser energy both in space and time; the formation of a low density channel was also detected. These results are discussed in terms of self-focusing in an inhomogeneous plasma, where inhomogeneities are produced by hydrodynamic motion.
