Soliton beam propagation in nonlinear Kerr media,ng has been demonstrated. For higher power levels 2nd and 3rd order soliton beams have been observed and transient behaviours between them analysed. Simultaneous propagations of several solitons give rise to interactions or collisions experimentally demonstrated. The use of those effects to design optical logical gates is envisaged.
