Influence of Centrifugal Barrier Effects on the Autoionising ResonancesThe high resolution photoabsorption spectra of rare gases and alkali atoms are investigated in the p-subshell excitation region. It is demonstrated that centrifugal barrier plays a crucial role in determining the autoionisation widths and the intensities of the resonances.
