Sex Determination and H-Y Antigen in Mice,d for the decision to form Sertoli rather than follicle cells. If this signal is given by a diffusible substance, soluble H-Y antigen (as recognized by T lymphocytes) is probably not that substance, but serologically detectable male antigen (if different from H-Y) could be involved.
