Synthesis of Enantiomerically Pure Unnatural Compounds Via Non-Biomimetic Homoaldol Reactions-alkanones. After exchange of the cation by titanium or aluminium reagents, the addition proceeds with high. or . diastereoselectivity. Altogether, the new reagents provide the first more general method for stereocontrolled homoaldol reactions. A report on asymmetric homoaldol reactions, including results of several research groups, is also given.
