Defect Detection through Stochastic Wave Finite Element Methodent, simulated as the defect (crack). Diffusion matrix for uncertain media through stochastic wave finite element method is studied in this paper. The forced response following a vibratory excitation is computed to investigate the defect detection. The computational efficiency of the method is demonstrated by comparison with MC simulation.
