External Forces Acting upon the Skull,eir effects on the bone, therefore not predictable. Functional adaptation to these forces cannot take place. It is assumed that resistance is provided by a security factor of bone strength; the curvature and the two-layered construction of the wall provide additional strength to withstand impacts.
