Sugars too small to form the five-membered ring (C2, C3) oligomerize under the conditions to form C4–C6 sugars, which are sequestered as silicates. On The Immobilization of , Lipase B onto Surface Modified Porous Silica Gel Particles,a commercial product were assessed by a model esterification reaction between 1-octanol and lauric acid carried out in isooctane at 37?°C.
